Yes — it’s certainly impossible to completely eliminate all porn forever. It’s impossible to completely eliminate anything forever, including things that are much more public and evil, like murder. Everyone knows this, but then the sexual revolutionaries log on and see someone wanting to ban porn and so they essentially make the argument that because you can’t get rid of porn, porn must great! How in the world does that follow?
In the near term, “zoning” the internet, requiring age verification, and other measures you mention above would be excellent steps. Does Supreme Court jurisprudence on speech need to get better? Yes. But there are plenty of things that can be done now, like you mention, as well as prosecuting pornographers under standing anti-obscenity law (law which has withstood the courts), something Congress has asked Atty General Barr to do.
But we should still ban porn, even if we’ll never succeed 100% — just like we shouldn’t lift our ban on murder.
